Remarks: Yellow Congo Tetras (Alestopetersius caudalis) come from West Africa. Females remain mostly olive-green in color, but males receive shiny blue backs, white edges of their dorsal and ventral fins, and a bright yellow tail with a black stripe in the middle, bordered by a small amount of white. Because of their size, they can be housed with larger cichlids like Severums, Angelfish, and Chocolate Cichlids, as well as smaller species like Apistogramma or Pelvicachromis. They will appreciate darker, tannin-stained water but are perfectly happy in well-lit environments as well. They can tolerate a wide range of pH values.
