Southern States Annual Ryegrass is a high quality, short-lived cool season forage bunch grass with a fibrous roots system. Because of its high forage potential, Annual Ryegrass can be used alone or in mixtures with other forage species. It establishes quickly but is not as winter hardy or persistent as other forage grasses. This ryegrass may be used for hay, silage, grazing or as a cover crop and is an excellent choice for fall overseeding of warm season grasses. Southern States Annual Ryegrass will germinate quickly and holds the soil until permanent species have time to establish.
