Mini Pellia (Riccardia chamedryfolia) is a popular moss-like aquatic plant for planted tanks and aquascaping. Its compact, bushy growth and deep green color are an awesome alternative to standard aquarium moss. Like aquatic moss, it can be attached to driftwood, stone, or other hardscape and will eventually secure itself, providing a unique look.
Though a slow grower, Mini Pellia rewards patience with dense, cushion-like mats that offer beautiful texture in aquascapes. Its one of our favorites, and we notice freshwater shrimp and fish enjoy it too! It is suitable for all aquarium sizes, from nano aquariums to larger planted tanks. This aquarium plant does best in moderate lighting and stable water parameters. For fluffier growth, provide it with CO and watch it puff up! Few things beat a healthy patch of Mini Pellia!
