Fluval Carbon is made from bituminous coal, which is the best overall source material for carbon used for aquarium water filtration due to its varying pore structure and sizing. Carbon, especially when new, can remove some trace elements present in many liquid plant supplements. We recommend waiting at least a week or two after having changed the carbon in your filter before dosing with a liquid plant supplement.
