Remarks: Cichlasoma dimerus is a very beautiful cichlid from South America that has unfortunately been introduced to US waters in Florida and perhaps surrounding states. They vary in color from golden yellow to blue-green with hints of red in the fins. They can be kept with similarly sized cichlids from South America, such as Acara, Severums, Angelfish, and Geophagus.
