The Reef Lobster does well in environments where there are lots of rocks for them to hide between and to hunt on. They need a secure hiding place for when they molt and wait for their new exoskeleton to harden. Though generally peaceful, they may harm small fish and invertebrates. However, they are aggressive towards each other so only one specimen or a mated pair should be kept in the tank. They should be given iodine-rich foods to help with proper molting.
