Echinodorus uruguayensis has been known as many other plants over the years such as Echindorus hormanii red, green, black and africanus. Originating from south america it likes cooler waters which are acidic (so less than 7 pH).

It needs medium intensity light to flourish and likes absorbing food via the roots. Apart from that, not too tricky. Does grow to a decent size (50cm) which is why it’s better as a background plant.
